For over 40 years, members of Red Mountain Garden Club have gathered together at the start of the holiday season to raise money for the club through the sale of handmade holiday greenery and a variety of gift items that often change annually.
The funds raised specifically support The Memorial Garden at the Birmingham Museum of Art. This garden was designed and gifted in 1959 to the City of Birmingham and the Birmingham Museum of Art by Red Mountain Garden Club in “memory of those who beautify our city”. Since that time, funds for the support of the garden have been raised through various events hosted by our club. Generous donations in honor and in memory of others have also been made through the years, as well as significant gifts for specific needs. We are forever grateful for each.
Eventually in 1982, The Greenery Sale was born as a way to both support our garden and for all RMGC members to have fun working together toward a singular goal. It was very successful and so enjoyed by the membership that it has continued to be our primary annual fundraiser in support of our Memorial Garden for over forty years.
The membership of Red Mountain Garden Club remains grateful for the support shown to our Memorial Garden by the community, when they choose to purchase their holiday greenery and gifts through The Greenery Sale.
