Red Mountain Garden Club was founded in February 1927 in Birmingham Alabama, and is a member of the Garden Club of America.
The purpose of the Garden Club of America is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening, to share the advantages of association by means of educational meetings, conferences, correspondence and publications, and to restore, improve, and protect the quality of the environment through educational programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvement.
As a GCA member club, Red Mountain Garden Club embraces the mission of the Garden Club of America and is involved in a number of local projects which support the Memorial Garden at the Birmingham Museum of Art and the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, as well as many other groups and organizations dedicated to the environment and beautification of Birmingham.
Red Mountain Garden Club is also a member of The Garden Club of Alabama, the Third District Federated Garden Club, and the Shades Valley Council.
